Difference Optimax 150 175 What Would Cause A Mercury Optimax 150 To Chug At High RPMs When Air Temp Warms?

What would cause a Mercury Optimax 150 to chug at high RPMs when air temp warms? - difference optimax 150 175

I have a 2006 Mercury Optimax 150 outboard motor in the fresh morning air in Florida, 5700rpm Wide Open Throttle (WOT) runs without problems. Min after raising the temperature of the air tomorrow (11 hours), the only engine turning 5200 rpm and a maximum after 5 minutes and start Chug missed and will not continue at high speed. This happens when the engine is cold or warm. No warning bells go. I slowed down and still have minutes 4800-4900 rpm, which occur without this problem. Thought it was a fuel problem, instead of the fuel filter and got the ball of the fuel is pumped. All is well. I have even used the mercury additive fuel to remove water in the gas, but without success.

As a Mercury Optimax outboard drive system works to measure the air and pressure / system fuel pressure? What happens at 5000 rpm in this system, air-fuel, that this difference is the engine? Could be related to the mapping system from Mercury Air / sensors?

Perhaps a temporary failure of air supply. Sensor or MAP sensor. You have the scan engine to a dealer.

This could be a sensor problem ...

The Optimax is a direct injection, which play a variety of sensors, which monitor many different things inside the engine, and many play a role in the supply of fuel.

Optimax engines are designed to more fuel in cold start, inject the engine enables faster warm. Once the engine reaches temperature, the MEC will regulate the fuel back normal.

What I saw was a fault with sensors, which in turn causes the engine extra fuel for cold start, sometimes inject all, even if you are a temp. This leads to malfunction of the engine.

My suggestion to you is an engine in a Mercury dealers are, where they connect to DDT or diagnosis of the upper back of Mercury in conjunction, and you may encounter errors that are seen especially with the engine. Since the Optimax has a very sophisticated system of fuel, is the best thing to do.

Good luck.

Are you sure it's the hot air is the trigger? What happens when you start the heat?

Here are a few things to try.

Run the engine until you experiencing your problem.

When putting the motor, (Just for Kicks) Loosen the gas cap. When the engine is recovered, then you have a problem with the tank vent system. Search in gas spit, if the full recognition and clean the screen.

If the cap does not solve anything, plug in a external 6 gal tank. (Make sure that the oil mixture for your engine correctly). If this fixes the problem, you can balls of gelatin in your fuel. Balls of gelatin, it is my mandate. Today is the use of fuel alcohol. If you get water in the gas mixed with alcohol and makes things that look like jelly or silicone. You go to the fuel line and cause chaos sucked. You will see the filter. They are seldom go so far in the chain.

If the external tank has not resolve the issue, to take a qualified mechanic. These engines are Hi-Tech Tor puzzles.

Good luck
